Management of Health and Safety of Contractors, Casuals, Visiting Academics, Volunteers and Service Personnel - Policy and Guidelines (Unrevised)
Overview:
This policy recognises that the University of Adelaide must ensure the OH&S standards of conduct of any contractor it engages. In addition the University has a legal duty to provide adequate information to consultants, volunteers, visiting academics and others who perform work for or on behalf of the University, to ensure their safety and the safety of others in the workplace. Staff will be provided with appropriate training, and where practicable, the University will provide comprehensive support for short term "employees". The policy applies to all Faculties and Divisions, Schools and Branches of the University. It also applies where any individual is engaged (paid or voluntary) to assist in field trips or other activities on behalf of the University.
Note:
This policy was approved by the Executive Director, Student and Staff Services. As from 1 January 2007 the VP(S&R) is responsible for this policy.
