Refereeing and Assessment Procedure

As part of the publishing schedule, all authors wishing to submit manuscripts to The University of Adelaide Press must have their work refereed through an external referee from their field. Only refereed works will be accepted for publication.

This is a necessary step in publishing to ensure that only manuscripts of excellent quality and academic value are published in order to create a reputation for high calibre academia which will reflect on both the University and the authors themselves.

We ask authors to suggest five possible referees when they submit their manuscript, from whom one or two will be selected and asked to referee the work in terms of its contribution to research. We strongly recommend that the referees be external to the university unless exceptional circumstances dictate otherwise.
