Services and support for undergraduate students in the Professions
Students enrolled into the Bachelor of Commerce, Finance, Economics, Teaching as well as the Graduate Diploma in Education have exclusive access to the Student Lounge - 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.
Outstanding modern facilities are featured throughout the Student Lounge, including:
There is also a First Year Learning Centre, newly opened in August 2010, which allows for new students to study in their own exclusive area.
The UG Hub front desk is also where you can talk to staff about issues that may be affecting your studies. Leanne and Kirsty can help you with enrolment problems, study plans, appointments to see a research librarian and most general student administrative enquiries. For complex program advice, there are three program advisers who are available by appointment that can help you further. Appointments can be made at the front desk.
One of the highlights of the Hub is the glass sky-bridge and glazed atrium, linking the existing Professions Tower and Education building. A combination of unique architecture, design, and advanced facilities, the Professions Hub will prove a popular community space that offers a unique learning environment and friendly atmosphere.
The First Year Learning Centre is located on the Ground Floor of Nexus 10, 10 Pulteney Street.
This purpose built facility is exclusive to first year students studying undergraduate programs in Business, Economics and Education. The centre aims to support students at the most crucial time in their university career by providing special study areas, learning coaches and advisors, as well as the space for students to socialise and make friends.
The PLC provides learning and academic advice to undergraduate students within the Faculty of the Professions, across all Schools.
PASS is another support service for students who wish to improve their results, by giving as much assistance as possible to enable first year students to master the concepts of their course. Sessions are led by experienced students, or Peer Leaders, who have mastered the course and want to help new students to learn how to succeed.
Get involved with your studies and "meet" current students before you even set foot on campus.
The Student Ambassador Program is a network of undergraduate students enrolled in Business, Economics and Law, and provide them with unique opportunities to enhance and enrich their time at University. Sign-up now
