Student Ambassador Program

When entering the workforce employers are looking for more than just a degree- they want students who have participated in additional programs and opportunities, and who have hence gained valuable experience which will prove vital in pursuing your career and future dreams. Through regular contact with employers they have told us that when hiring graduates they look for additional programs, certificates etc. We have hence developed the student ambassador program to provide our students with these desirable assets which will place them ahead of their competitors in the workplace.

Additional benefits include:

• Program Certificate from the Faculty's Executive Dean to acknowledge your efforts, and involvement and add to your CV. Such recognised certificates are highly sought after by employees and demonstrate extra-curricular involvement and initiative. Accompanying the certificate will be an overview of your involvement throughout the program.
• Excellent networking opportunities with both industry and students.
• Leadership, mentoring and Ambassador opportunities through representing the Faculty at various events.
• Get to know your fellow students from a range of year levels for support, advice, and a friendly face on campus.
• Notification of International travel opportunities (study tours, exchanges and more).
• Access to a wide-group of students for promotion of your own activities or events, clubs, etc.
• Involvement in community-wide events and opportunities which will develop and expose your skills to important industry contacts.

Students will be contacted regarding up-coming High School visits where we occasionally seek one or more students to speak to a group of interested high school students about their time at University (students are often renumerated for their time and efforts with such events). Students involved in the program represent the Faculty, and act as our 'voice'. It is a wonderful leadership opportunity, and chance to build upon your University experience- placing you in a favourable position for entering the workforce.

• We require participation in at least 2 activities, competitions or events throughout the entire year to receive your formal recognition of being a Faculty Student Ambassador. Participation can be in any form – such as attending a social event, representing the Faculty at an event, participating in market research etc. Students can of course participate in more activities or opportunities as they desire. Record will be kept of your activity.
• Some activities can count towards hours for the University of Adelaide Student Leadership Certificate if you are participating in the program run through transitions unit.
