What to expect:
The Professions Undergraduate Hub (Ground Floor, Nexus 10) is for the exclusive use for current students enrolled in the Bachelors of Commerce, Economics, Education and Finance as well as Graduate Diploma of Education. Students have access to the facilities from 7am - 7pm, Monday to Friday.
This purpose-built space includes computer stations, booths for group meetings, widescreen TV's with computer access for group work, lounges and social space for the students to both relax and study.
The First Year Learning Centre is exclusive to first year students studying programs in Business and Economics. The centre aims to support for students at the most crucial time in their university career by providing special study areas, learning coaches and advisors, as well as the space for students to socialise and make friends.
Features of the First Year centre include computer stations, learning booths for group meetings, widescreen TVs with computer access for group work, digital projectors, lounges and meeting rooms. Students also have access to study coaches who provide discipline-specific advice on the core courses studied during their first year. There is also a dedicated learning advisor who is available daily to provide students with advice on how to write assignments, specific academic skills like correct referencing, and more.
The Professions Learning Centre provides learning and academic advice to undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students within the Faculty of the Professions, across all Schools.
PASS is another support service for students who wish to improve their results, by giving as much assistance as possible to enable first year students to master the concepts of their course. Sessions are led by experienced students, or Peer Leaders, who have mastered the course and want to help new students to learn how to succeed.
Get involved with your studies and "meet" current students before you even set foot on campus.
The Student Ambassador Program is a network of undergraduate students enrolled in Business, Economics and Law, and provide them with unique opportunities to enhance and enrich their time at University.
The Basement is another student space opened in late 2010. Located below the Ground Floor Undergraduate Hub and First Year Learning Centre, the Basement provides even more facilities for students to study, meet, and socialise. Large tables and quiet booths provide students with room for group work and meetings, and comfortable lounges allow students to relax and study. The space also features three large seminar rooms, each with multiple LCD screens for presentations, ensuring all students are able to comfortably see and hear.
"The Masters of Comparative Law program through the University of Adelaide allowed me the flexibility of studying whilst working full-time. Being able to study with students from a wide-range of disciplines and varying legal backgrounds added an extra dimension to the course. The ease with which the semester abroad in Germany dovetailed with the degree was an added draw card."
