Where To Go For Help
The University is committed to ensuring that there are academic and learning support services and pastoral care available to assist students maximise their study experience and achieve academic success.
In particular there are a number of dedicated services only available Professions students. Below is a comprehensive list of support services offered by the Hub and other areas of the University.

Professions Student Support Hub (The Hub)
The Hub is a purpose built facility for students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Business, Economics and Education. Staff are available to assist you with inquiries ranging from enrolment support, study plans and forms submission.
Program Advisers are available for consultation on complex study advice, as well as the impact unsatisfactory progress has on student enrolment.

Professions Learning Centre (PLC)
Located within the Hub, the PLC provides learning and academic advice to undergraduate and postgraduate students within the Professions.
Their services range from course specific assessment workshops, bridging programs and consultation on topics such as time management, exam preparation, and writing a cover letter and resume/CV.

First Year Learning Centre (FYLC)
The FYLC is a facility exclusively for first year students studying undergraduate programs in Business, Economics and Education. The Centre supports students at the most crucial time in their University career by providing special study areas, learning coach and advisers, as well as space for students to socialise and make friends.

International Student Centre (ISC)
The ISC provides ongoing support to all international students studying at the University. It works closely with students groups, faculties and University administration areas to ensure the experience of all international students is a positive and successful one.
Services offered by the ISC include:
- Assistance with visa matters
- Assistance with long-term accommodation
- Peer mentoring program
- Ongoing support by International Student Advisers
- Support for students finishing study or returning home

Education & Welfare Officers (EWOs)
EWOs at the Student Care office can provide assistance to students who may need guidance with the complexities of student life.
EWOs have wide range of experience in University culture, systems and policies.
They are the first point of contact for matters such as:
- Support in preparing a Show Cause submission
- Financial assistance
- Advice and advocacy
- Counselling on academic, personal and financial issues.

Academic Learning & Languages (ALL)
ALL offers practical advice and strategies for students to master reading, writing, note-taking, time management, oral presentation skills, referencing techniques and exam preparation for success at University through seminars, workshops and individual consultation.

Maths Learning Centre (MLC)
The MLC supports all students at the University to learn the maths they need at uni – especially if they are meeting it for the first time. This service is in addition to the support students receive through lectures, tutors and learning resources for their particular course.
The MLC has a free drop-in service Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm.

Disability Service
The University’s Disability Service can help students manage ways to accommodate their disability whilst at uni so they can focus their energies towards studies. The focus of Disability Service is not physical or practical assistance but rather ways to improve study habits in the University environment.
Services offered by the office include:
- Access to loan equipment
- Support in applying for alternative exam arrangements, assignment extensions etc.
- Getting lecture notes in different formats
- Referral to other services for learning difficulties
