Congratulations on receiving an offer to enrol in the Graduate Diploma in Education program.

Enrolment

• Please check the email that you supplied to SATAC for a list of the Curriculum and Methodology courses (teaching areas) in which you have been approved to enrol.
• Enrolment opens on Monday, 4 February 2013. Please follow the enrolment instructions:
  • Full time completion of the Graduate Diploma in Education
  • Part time completion of the Graduate Diploma in Education
    
• For students requiring additional enrolment advice or support, a number of non-compulsory drop-in sessions have been arranged.
• Thursday 31 January, 2013 1-3pm (SMaRTE Room, L8 Nexus 10)
• Tuesday 5 February, 2013 10am-12pm (SMaRTE Room, L8 Nexus 10)

Forms to be completed before Enrolment Advice Session

2013 Student Information Sheet

You will need to download the 2013 Student Information Sheet and either email it using the submit button or print and bring it to your enrolment advice session. If you are filling it out by hand, please write neatly and clearly as it is used for our database and a copy is sent to practicum schools. You do not need to supply the photographs.

National History Record Check

All student teachers must undergo a National Criminal History Record Check through the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion. You will not be allowed in a school for practicum purposes or for your curriculum studies until the University has received notice of your clearance.

We have pre-filled Section D and it has been signed by the School of Educations Returning Officer.  Visit the Department of Communities and Social Inclusion website if you need assistance with completing the form.

Responding to Abuse and Neglect

You must also complete a one-day Responding to Abuse and Neglect course before undertaking a practicum. Read the enclosed notice for details and make arrangements directly with the trainer.

School Leaders Day

Date: Friday, 1 March 2013
Time: 9.10am - 3.30pm
Location: Law Lecture Theatre 3, Ligertwood Building (coordinates M15 on the map)

The Graduate Diploma in Education year commences with a School Leaders Day on Friday 1 March.

You will then have the opportunity to hear school Principals and Deputy Principals speak about their schools and the teaching profession and will be given important information about the teaching practice component.
