Student Representatives
Semester 2, 2012 - Semester 1, 2013
The Student Reps are peer elected to represent the students best interests. They attend Program Committee meetings, play an active role in policy-making on behalf of the student body and, in turn, assist in clarifying student expectations.
It is important you know your student reps and how to contact them.
Student Representatives
Courtney Wilson
Representative for
Bachelor of Commerce
I am currently a second year student studying a double degree of Commerce (Corp. Fin) and Law. I believe I would be a worthy Student Rep as I have a genuine interest in the Business school and have the necessary experience. A representative of Pulteney Grammar over the years, sport captainships and community involvement are a few things which demonstrate this.
I believe I have the ability to see the big picture and could positively act as a go-between for students, staff and the faculty. I try my best with everything I do and would love to further progress Adelaide University.
On a personal level, I believe it's my ability to chat to strangers about things like 'why correlation sucks' which would make me a good student representative. I try my hardest to be friendly, relate to people and in turn represent their interests.
Help me, Help you! |
Andrew Shaw
Representative for
Bachelor of Economics
My name is Andrew Shaw and I am studying a Bachelor of Economics at the University of Adelaide.
I am a friendly, approachable and enthusiastic student with a special interest in the fields of Economics and Accounting. I pride myself on my interpersonal skills and believe that my diverse background has allowed me to network within the university with confidence.
I want to further involve myself in the Faculty of the Professions by becoming a student representative. I will strive to provide an avenue for the student voice to be heard by the committee, and ensure that the student learning experience is a challenging and rewarding one. |
Joel Dieu
Representative for
Bachelor of Finance
I have prior experience in a leadership role, knowing what is required to listen to those that have any concerns about the school, and in representing a large group of people.
I know of various concerns that exists in the school and I would like to address such concerns in the near future if I am to be elected. I believe that a leader is only performing at his/her strongest when he/she is taking heed of their peers, which I'm willing to do.
Even as a leader, I would still be approachable as not only a representative, but a friend to take note of what people want and any concerns they may want to raise. With experience in different roles in the past, I know what is required to be the best representative for the school. |
