Study Abroad and Exchange
Full Semester Exchange and Study Abroad Study Plans
An exchange or study abroad semester requires careful degree planning from as early as your first year at the University of Adelaide.
This usually means saving electives for your exchange. Sample exchange study plans are available for students in the Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Economics, and Bachelor of Finance degrees.
Those students undertaking a double degree who would like advice on the best study plan for exchange should make an appointment to see the UG Student Exchange Officer in the UG Hub as soon as possible (but not before the end of your first semester at the University of Adelaide).
The downloadable study plans also list suggested exchange host institutions for each discipline.
Suggested Study Plans
We've made things a bit easier for you by devising some suggested study plans for each degree.
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)
- Bachelor of Commerce (Corporate Finance)
- Bachelor of Commerce (International Business)
- Bachelor of Commerce (Management)

- Bachelor of Commerce
- Bachelor of Economics
- Bachelor of Finance (International)

Exchange
Adelaide Abroad administers the student exchange program at the University of Adelaide. The first step in planning for an exchange is to attend an Adelaide Abroad information sessions, and from there, to research the exchange host partners available to you. Once you have done this you can make an appointment to see the UG Student Exchange Officer in the UG Hub to discuss your preferences and review course choices.
Study Abroad
While an 'exchange' isn't possible to an institution that is not a recognised exchange partner, it may still be possible for you to study at an overseas institution as an international student. Such study MIGHT be able to count towards your University of Adelaide degree, however it is important that you discuss your intentions with the Professions Undergraduate Student Exchange Officer BEFORE you enrol at an overseas institution.
