2012 Study Tour to Santiago, Chile

Complete two courses in three weeks over the Summer Break in beautiful Chile!
Business and Economics students: You have the opportunity to experience a different culture, broaden your horizons and complete 2 courses towards your degree at the same time!
The Faculty of the Professions and the Australian Government is heavily subsiding 20 places for students to undertake a study tour in Santiago with the Universidad de Chile.
Applications have now closed.
The tour will be hosted by Professor Colin Rogers and Student Services Manager, Ms Siobhan Guy, and will count towards your degree as an Economics/Finance Level III/IIID (6 units).
An introductory seminar and assessment on the culture and economic environment of Chile will be scheduled in the week beginning 9 January, 2012. This is a compulsory component of the course. If you will not be able to attend the pre-departure seminar in Adelaide, you should not apply for this course.
Dates
Monday, 16 January – Friday, 3 February, 2012
Departure scheduled Saturday, 14 January.
Students must travel to Chile as a group. A return flight will be booked for the group, however if you wish to continue your travels this will incur additional costs.
Cost
$3500 per student.
This covers:
- airfares
- cultural tours as part of the study tour program
- accommodation
You will need to cover additional expenses, such as food & beverages, clothing and extra-curricular activities.
If you elect to continue your travels beyond Saturday, 4 February, any additional cost incurred will need to be covered by you, including additional travel insurance which must be arranged at the time of booking.
Financial Assistance
This study tour has been partially funded by DEEWR and the Faculty of the Professions. Students successful in gaining a place in the study tour have been partially subsidised to undertake this course.

Eligibility
In order to be eligible to participate in the Chile Study Tour you must meet the following criteria:
Undergraduate Students
- Have successfully completed:
ECON 1004 (Principles of Microeconomics I)
ECON 1000 (Principles of Macroeconomics I)
ECON 1008 (Business Economics Statistics I) - Have successfully completed one year of full time study at the University of Adelaide
- Are NOT a citizen or permanent resident of Chile
- Have a credit average or higher
- Have room in your program for this course (it is your responsibility to confirm this with the UG Hub).
Postgraduate Students
- Have successfully completed one semester of full time study at the University of Adelaide
- Are NOT a citizen or permanent resident of Chile
- Have a credit average or higher
- Have room in your program for this course (it is your responsibility to confirm this with the PG Hub).
