Student Policies

On this page you will find links to documents about student policies and procedures relevant to students enrolled in courses and programs offered by the Faculty of the Professions.

1. Recognition of Outstanding Achievement

Students who achieve an average mark of 85 or above for study undertaken in 2008 will be identified as outstanding.  Students must have completed 12 units (equivalent to one fulltime semester) in 2008 to meet the criteria for recognition of outstanding performance.  These students will receive a letter of congratulation from the Executive Dean.

2. Unsatisfactory Academic Progress by Coursework Policy

If in the last semester your grade point average (GPA) was 2.8 or less, you will have received a letter from the University under the Unsatisfactory Academic Progress by Coursework Students Policy. The letter you received will either be a:

•    First Risk Notification,
•    Second Risk Notification, or a
•    Show Cause Notification.

First Risk Notification and Second Risk Notification

If you received a First or Second Risk Notification letter, it is in your best interest to seek assistance from the University. For international students it is essential that you seek assistance, as failing has implications for your visa status.

In the first instance, please make an appointment to see your program adviser. Your program adviser will either assist you directly or will be able to refer you to other services. Below is a list of contacts for each School or area of study:
