Program Outline

The Master of Project Management program is ideal for technology-based professionals who wish to be guided through leading project management concepts, methodologies and tools. Designed for professionals who want to access advanced knowledge while being fully engaged in their careers. There are four courses in the Masters program, designed to be completed in half a year.

The Graduate Certificate Project Management program is ideal for technology based professionals who:

  • Have or want project management roles and responsibilities at best practice levels
  • Work in areas such as information technology, construction, defense, product development, infrastructure, manufacturing, mining, energy or government
  • Seek to advance their careers through a formal qualification in project management
  • Want to deliver predicted outcomes through the application of project management to their work and organisation
  • Aspire to graduate with a double Masters program that combines project management with science and technology commercialisation or business administration*

Further the Graduate Certificate in Project Management is a pathway into admission in to the Master of Project Management.

The Master of Project Management program is designed for professionals who want access to advanced knowledge while being fully engaged in their careers.


There are only eight courses in the Masters program. They are designed to be completed over a two-year period by a committed professional who works full-time. They can also be undertaken in one year of full-time study.


There is the flexibility to tailor a program to meet your specific needs by:

  • Selecting options from an entrepreneurship and commercialisation stream
  • Substituting one✝, two✝ or three courses with an appropriate Masters Project (✝ subject to approval)

The Graduate Certificate in Project Management requires the completion of four courses from the Masters program, and provides the benefits of a recognised postgraduate award.

Through this program you will:

  • Learn what it takes to create and manage complex projects with ambitious objectives
  • Achieve mastery over the concepts, methodologies and tools of project management
  • Gain the knowledge and skills required by the Project Management Institute of the USA and the Australian Institute of Project Management
  • Develop the ability to define strategic goals for project activities
  • Effectively apply project management principles to achieve business, social and environmental goals
