Location: North Terrace Campus
Duration: 1 year (full-time or part-time? equivalent)
Degree/Award: Graduate Diploma

Program Outline

This program is an option for students who wish to undertake study beyond the scope of the Graduate Certificate in Management but who do not wish to commit to the duration of the MBA or MBA (Advanced).

Program Delivery

Trimester Teaching Sessions

Each course (subject) is delivered over a 12-week trimester.  There are 3 trimesters each year.

After Hours Teaching

Most classes are scheduled to accommodate full-time working professionals. Classes are generally held on weeknights, with one 3-hour teaching block per week. Some courses are delivered fornightly on Saturdays, in a 6-hour teaching block.

Intensive Courses

Several courses are offered in intensive mode. Classes are generally held over a Friday evening and Saturday morning, 3 times per trimester.  Alternatively, they may be held in 3 blocks of 2 full days per trimester.

Program Structure

Core courses: Fundamentals of Leadership, Accounting for Managers, Marketing Management, Economics for Management, Managerial Finance, Managing Contemporary Organisations.

2 Elective courses are chosen from a list of courses available each year. Topics include Strategy, Marketing, Finance, General Management and International Business.

NOTE: Students who are considering enrolling in the MBA or MBA (Advanced) in the future are encouraged to choose 2 MBA compulsory core courses in place of the 2 electives in the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration program.

Assessment

Assessment of courses usually comprises an individual assignment, a group assignment and an examination.  Some courses also have student participation in the classroom as an assessable component.  Students must pass all pieces of assessment in order to pass a course.

You must have a completed Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 2 years relevant work experience; or, a completed Graduate Certificate in Management plus 2 years relevant work experience. All applicants must submit a Curriuculm Vitae and 2 referee reports to the School.
