Master of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic)
M.E (E&E)
|
| Location: | North Terrace Campus |
| Duration: | 1 year
(full-time or
part-time |
| Degree/Award: | Masters by Coursework |
This 24 unit program is suitable for engineering graduates with Honours who wish to pursue further studies, as well as engineers with relevant work experience (up to 12 additional units of enabling courses may be required depending on the exact nature of the applicant's qualifications - this may extend study by one semester).
The program includes 9 units of core courses designed to provide generic skills applicable across all fields of engineering. These are Statistics in Engineering, System Modelling and Simulation and Applied Project Management. The remaining 15 units are of specialisation courses in fields such as microelectronics, signal processing and communications, radio frequency engineering, and power engineering. The selection of specialisation courses will enable candidates to either explore a sub-discipline at some depth or acquire further knowledge across a broad front.
Applicants should note that the courses in this program are of a high academic standard and are designed to build on existing knowledge established in an undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering program. The Master of Engineering is not a discipline conversion program. Accordingly applicants are advised that they should have studied at least two of the above areas of specialisation in some depth (no less than half of a semester's work, in total) in their Bachelor of Engineering program. Familiarity with signal processing techniques, basic electromagnetics, electronics, matrix algebra and elementary statistics will be assumed in many of these courses.
