The University of Adelaide’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree is a widely recognised qualification. Many leading companies now demand an MBA as a basic requirement for senior management positions. Completion of a rigorous MBA degree testifies to your ability to map out a course of action and see it through. It equips you with valuable life-long skills in critical thinking, leadership, understanding behaviour and analysis that are useful beyond the workplace.
The MBA (Advanced) program (16 courses) goes beyond the standard 12-course MBA degree, and is designed to cater for several different niches:
Trimester teaching sessions
Each course (subject) is delivered over a 12-week trimester, allowing student to condense studies into a shorter period of time. There are 3 trimesters each year.
After Hours Teaching
Most classes are scheduled to accommodate full-time working professionals. Classes are generally held on weeknights, with one 3-hour teaching block per week. Some courses are delivered fornightly on Saturdays, in a 6-hour teaching block.
Intensive Courses
Several courses are offered in intensive mode. Classes are generally held over a Friday evening and Saturday morning, 3 times per trimester. Alternatively, they may be taught over 3 x 2 day blocks.
Assessment of courses usually comprises an individual assignment, a group assignment and an examination. Some courses also include student participation in the classroom as an assessable component. Students must pass all pieces of assessment in order to pass a course.
