Program Outline

With a focus on the rural setting and large animals, this program is designed to provide students with the foundation knowledge and skills they require to progress to further studies in both postgraduate veterinary programs and a range of different scientific disciplines. It is expected that most students undertaking the program will progress to the Master of Veterinary Science which will enable them to pursue occupations open to accredited veterinarians. Students not continuing to the Masters Program are expected to gain employment as animal science professionals in a range of agricultural and livestock industries, zoos, biosecurity and animal welfare organisations.
