In a reflection of the standard of work being managed by Property Services and other areas of the University, several projects received significant accolades at the 2006 Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) awards.
The North Terrace Development was awarded the 2006 Adelaide Prize, in recognition of "an outstanding example of collaboration, design integrity and public realm achievement in Adelaide" that represented "all of the aspirations that [the judges] have for the City of Adelaide to be an activated, sustainable, beautiful place for people."
The resounding success of the North Terrace Campus Central Access Lift was recognised with both the 2006 Award of Merit in the Urban Design category and a Commendation in the New Buildings category.
The Lower Level Campus Development also received an Award of Merit in the Urban Design category.
Rounding out the awards, the new Secure Bicycle Storage Unit, located behind the Horace Lamb Building, received the 2006 Colorbond Steel Award.
