National Wine Centre

The National Wine Centre presents great opportunities for students and visitors to learn about wine growing, making and consuming. An exhibition gallery gives insight into the role wine has played in history and the position of Australian wine in today's international market. The centre also features a one hectare vineyard with approximately 500 vines and seven wine varieties, as well as a retail store where wines can be sampled and purchased.

The centre has world-class wine education programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level, which are also taught at the Waite Campus, as well as a comprehensive range of wine appreciation courses.

Recently, the centre has become a sought-after venue for various special events and functions such as weddings and conferences.

The blend of public and student use provides Property Services with a unique challenge, as the management of the centre needs to be balanced between public access and community service and the academic needs of the students.
