Spencer Gulf Rural Health School

Through the Government's "Rural Health Strategy", the Department of Health and Aging has provided funding assistance to the Spencer Gulf Rural Health School (SGRHS) to develop a training facility for General Practice, Surgery, Psychiatry, and community health professionals at Port Lincoln.

This is part of a strategy to develop a broader rural education and training network. The SGRHS is a partnership between the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia.

The project under management by Property Services is a $1.3M teaching, research and administration facility located on the grounds of the Port Lincoln Hospital.

The project has been designed by Boston Bay Architectural Services and constructed by D&R Covino Builders.

Construction was completed in December 2006.
