Furniture Storage & Disposal

As of 28 May 2009 the University warehouse located at Collinswood was closed due to high rental costs and low turnover of surplus furniture.

The following options are now available for the storage and disposal of surplus furniture. 

Disposal

1. University caretakers can dispose of unwanted furniture via accessing the following form  http://www.adelaide.edu.au/ps/requests/carereq_nt.html. 

2. An auction house can collect and sell the goods on your behalf. All expenses and/or revenue will belong to the project or department. A list of possible vendors are listed below:

3. Donations – Donations to charities or community organisations are at the discretion of the Business Manager/Faculty Finance Manager. A sample list of charities are below:

Storage
 
1. Infrastructure Branch Project Managers/Officers can arrange for the storage of necessary items through an external provider as they see fit for their specific project. 
Note: Projects with special requirements may be able to store surplus furniture at Thebarton Campus, this is at the discretion of Thebarton Campus Property Managers.

2. Departments and Faculties can arrange for storage through a suitable provider. A sample list of storage companies are listed below.

3. Heritage items that require storage can be stored for a period of up to 12 months at Thebarton Campus. For more details please contact the Facilities Manager at Thebarton Campus on 08 8303 4471.
