Brain and Cognition Group

Aims

Brain and Cognition Group consists of staff and students engaged in research in the fields of cognition, perception, neuropsychology, and individual differences in the School of Psychology at the University of Adelaide.

Health, Disability and Lifespan Development Research Group

Aims

Health, Disability and Lifespan Development Research Group (HDLD) is designed to provide a focus for research in health psychology, disability and rehabilitation, health service delivery, and healthy development across the lifespan. It represents a coalescence of the School's existing Disabilities Research Unit directed by Dr Neil Kirby, and the Primary Mental Health Care Research Unit directed by Assoc Prof Helen Winefield and Prof. Deborah Turnbull, with colleague School of Psychology researchers whose interests focus on human health and wellbeing through the lifespan, from birth to old age. These fields are linked by a common interest in the assessment and theoretical explanation of the determinants of individual well-being, both physical and psychosocial, how these are affected by age, gender, socioeconomic status and psychological variables, the evaluation of interventions to promote health and wellbeing, and the health policy implications of all.

Social and Organisational Research Unit

Aims

Social and Organisational Research Unit consists of staff and students engaged in research and teaching in the areas of social psychology, critical social psychology, discursive psychology, and organisational psychology. There is also a strong emphasis on applied research engaging with social and organisational issues. A discussion group associated with this unit - the Discourse and Social Psychology Group (DASP) – attracts members from throughout the University of Adelaide. DASP functions to sustain a culture of critical inquiry into contemporary social ideas within the School of Psychology at The University of Adelaide.
