My paper A context noise model of episodic recognition , which appeared in Psychological Review in 2001, was chosen by the Australian Psychological Society as one of the 12 most influential contributions by Australian psychologists between 1999-2002 in a collection of papers compiled for the Science Adviser for the Minister for Education, Science and Training.

Psychology Research Interests

The areas of human memory and language provide some of the most impenetrable problems in cognitive science. How do you extract meaning from utterances? How do you recognize when and where you have encountered things? How is your knowledge organized? How do you recall lists of items? How does the structure of sentences impact on your ability to process them? My work focuses on trying to elucidate the basic mechanisms of memory and language using a combination of behavioural, neuroscientific and computational modeling techniques.
