Psychology Research InterestsI have broad research interests in health psychology, developmental psychology and child clinical psychology. To date, most of my research in health psychology has related to treatment management in individuals with Cystic Fibrosis although more recently I have developed an interest in childhood obesity as well as mental health issues for people with chronic illness. As a child clinical psychologist I am very interested in both the nature of child psychopathology and the examination and development of psychological interventions to treat childhood emotional, family and behavioural difficulties. Interventions of particular interest are cognitive behavioural therapies and family therapies. I am interested also in the unique challenges faced by families in which members of a child’s extended family or kinship network take primary responsibility for the care of the child. I have additional interests in childhood social functioning, such as the issue of bullying in schools andin issues of healthy development more broadly.
