It is important to note that a person who returns to school or a re-entry college, etc. to undertake year 12 studies after having undertaken tertiary studies, does not gain the status of a school leaver applicant except where the withdrawal from tertiary studies has been sufficiently early in the program so that the applicant has completed two years or less of study. Tertiary applicantsAn applicant falls within the tertiary category if an academic result has been recorded at a higher education institution. Tertiary results can be used as a basis for selection when an applicant has completed at least one full semester of study. Special Entry applicantsTo be eligible for the Special Entry Scheme applicants:
Applicants under this Scheme sit for the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT), which is administered by SATAC. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicantsAboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people are also eligible to apply to The University of Adelaide via the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Access Scheme through the Centre for Australian Indigenous Research and Studies (CAIRS/Wilto Yerlo).
