Ngee Ann-Adelaide Education Centre
Ngee Ann - Adelaide Education Centre (NAAEC) is a joint venture between two of the oldest and most respected institutions in the Asia Pacific region: the Ngee Ann Kongsi and the University of Adelaide. The Ngee Ann Kongsi is a foundation which is actively involved in educational, cultural and welfare activities in Singapore. Founded in 1845 by Chinese immigrants, the Ngee Ann Kongsi has grown from a community bound by a common heritage and genuine concern for the welfare of its members to a foundation that now serves the community regardless of race, religion or social status.
The vision of the partners is to provide a high quality educational facility in Singapore combining under-graduate and post-graduate academic programs with applied executive and professional development courses taught by experienced consultants and professionals.
Role of the Academic Director
The Academic Director has a co-ordinating and leadership role in the academic activities undertaken in Singapore and in the expansion of teaching programs and student numbers at the NAAEC.
Key responsibilities include:
- liaison with program co-ordinators to ensure the quality of the curriculum and student experience;
- assisting in the identification and development of new programs for the NAAEC;
- establishing and maintaining relationships with the public and private sector in Singapore, including the polytechnic sector and other universities.

supporting the development of the NAAEC as a regional centre of excellence for undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Biography of Professor Noel Lindsay
As Academic Director, Singapore Operations, Noel Lindsay is responsible for overseeing the process by which the University's Singapore Ngee Ann-Adelaide Education Centre achieves EduTrust accreditation. EduTrust is a quality certification scheme introduced by the Singapore Ministry of Education and which is administered by the Singapore Council for Private Education.
Noel is an accountant and has worked both as an auditor and an insolvency practitioner. He is a Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Fellow of CPA Australia. He holds a Practicing Certificate with both organisations. Noel has experience in the venture capital field having been a Director of a Sydney-based capital fund that invested between $1 million to $3 million in growth oriented entrepreneurial ventures. As an entrepreneur, he has co-founded businesses in Australia, Malaysia, and South Africa.
In the University of Adelaide's Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Innovation Centre (ECIC), Noel is the Professor of Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation where he has been the ECIC Director for the past six years. His research interests include both business and social entrepreneurship. Noel holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and a PhD in Commerce from The University of Queensland.
