The Role of Faculty Associate Deans (International)
The Associate Deans report to the Executive Dean of their relevant Faculty. Their role is to make an effective contribution to internationalisation within the Faculty in accordance with the University’s and Faculty’s strategic plans.
The key responsibilities of the Associate Deans (International) include:
- Membership of the following Committees:
- The Faculty International Committee (Chair)
- The Faculty Board
- The University Internationalisation Committee
- Executive Dean’s Advisory Committee
- Coordinating the marketing of Faculty programs through the International Office.
- Representing the Faculty at international student recruitment activities and/or enlisting help of appropriate Faculty personnel.
- Liaising with:
- The Faculty administrator responsible for marketing and recruitment on matters affecting international students.
- School Heads on articulation credits, international recruitment and academic matters.
- The Faculty administrator responsible for academic matters.
- The PVC(I) on University international matters.
- In conjunction with the Executive Dean and Faculty administrator responsible for academic matters, working with the Faculty administrator, marketing and recruitment in the marketing of international activities and the processing of applications.
- Coordinating and monitoring collaborative agreements with international universities to promote Faculty linkages, exchange and recruitment of students.
- In conjunction with the International office, facilitating exchanges where appropriate, and providing advice to students on opportunities for completing parts of their program overseas at a partner university.
- Assisting in the development of Faculty policy with respect to international student matters.
- Taking a proactive role in assisting the Executive Dean to develop and implement the Faculty Strategic Plan.
- Other duties or projects as reasonably assigned by the Executive Dean.
