QualityThe University of Adelaide is committed to the principles of quality assurance and improvement through rigorous and thorough self-assessment evidenced in the fitness-for-purpose model. The Quality Framework below can be used by units throughout the University to ensure a cycle of continuous improvement.
The Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) "views quality management as operating an integrated system that enables an organisation to continually reflect on, and improve, its performance" [AUQA Audit Manual June 2008]. The University recognises the importance of using the findings from its self-assessment to inform its planning, and in measuring, monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of its core activities. Responsibility for Quality ImprovementOverall responsibility for quality assurance at the University rests with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic). The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Quality) provides oversight of the University’s quality assurance processes and the Quality Enhancement Committee provides advice on matters related to quality assurance and improvement across the University. AUQA auditsThe University has undergone a series of whole-of-institution audits since the mid 1990s. The most recent Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) audit took place between 9-12 September 2008.
