NHMRC - New Research Grants Management System (RGMS): Implementation Commenced

Internal Date

NHMRC has commenced implementation of a new Research Grants Management System to assist researchers and RAOs by supporting the full grants management process from application through to grant acquittal. RGMS features a significant on-line component allowing:

1. Researchers to maintain their profile and CV (which will automatically upload into applications).
2. Applicants, review panel members and external assessors to submit information directly into the system.
3. Grant holders and RAOs to manage grants (ethics approvals, progress and financial reports, transfers, variation requests, acquittal and final reporting).

The new RGMS is planned to be fully operational by December 2009 following a staged implementation. Development Grants, which will open in April 2009, will be piloted in the RGMS.

Further information can be found on the NHMRC RGMS webpage:

2009 Higher Education Research Data Collection of 2008 Data

Internal Date

The publications internal deadline for the 2009 collection of 2008 HERDC publications is 31st March 2009.

Publications attract significant Commonwealth funding for the University. Each publication must be assessed to ensure that it meets the DEEWR HERDC Guidelines. In order to determine the eligibility of every submission, we need to collect publications on an ongoing basis.

We therefore encourage researchers to forward their 2008 publications to the HERDC publications coordinators in their school or discipline as early as possible.

If you are unsure of the coordinator in your area or have any other queries regarding the HERDC, please contact Sue Delaine (33340), Donna Holloway (33789) or Julie Blake (34992), in the Research Branch.
