| Description | The Australian Music Examinations Board was officially formed in 1918. Prior to this a joint scheme originally established in 1906 between the University of Melbourne and the University of Adelaide's Music Examinations Board established a system of public examinations in music theory and practice. Tasmania, Queensland, Western Australia and later the NSW State Conservatorium of Music subsequently joined the scheme. The records consist of multiple copies of examination syllabuses in various music subjects and for different awards including the degree (1898), diploma (1901-3) and public examination (1898-1906). |
