The records consist of a series of diplomas in Social Studies issued by the South Australian Board of Social Study and Training between 1938 and 1941. In 1942 the University of Adelaide took over the Board of Social Study and Training. At this time, diploma holders were informed that they could exchange this diploma for one issued by the University, if they applied in writing and surrendered the old diplomas. As well as the surrendered diplomas, the series includes a copy of the letter sent out by the university, a list of diploma holders, and letters from diploma holders applying to make the exchange.
This item consists of 13 Diplomas in Social Studies, issued by the South Australian Board of Social Study and Training, and surrendered to the University in 1942 in exchange for an equivalent diploma issued by the University of Adelaide.
