In 1978, the Joint Interim Committee was set up by the Adelaide CAE and Torrens CAE to make recommendations to the Minister of Education and the two respective councils on matters pertaining to the merger of the colleges. The Committee was also instructed to come up with the new name for the amalgamated colleges and eventually settled on Adelaide College of the Arts and Education. The records include agendas, minutes and related papers of the Committee. Also included are the minutes of Working Party 5, Capital and Physical Resources, from the period of the Adelaide CAE/Torrens CAE amalgamation.
