They are all hand written

These items are the diaries of the Farm Manager Kenneth Pike for the period 1937 to 1962. The diaries record the work schedules and who was doing the work. This work included sheep work, general clean up, fertilizing, gardening, chaffing hay. Lawns, planting and ploughing. Each day but Sunday is completed. From 1948 only Monday to Friday are recorded.

There is a small collection of details from 1932 and 1933 on the amount of milk produced by Doctor Richardson's cow, she calf in July 1932. The third set of card covers the period 1935 to 1937, they have a map of the Campus and in red ink gives details of the work undertaken in the arboretum and the dates the work was undertaken.

This item has a news clipping related to Kenneth Pike being awarded the Roseworthy Merit Award. Kenneth Pike. Pike won a scholarship to Roseworthy in 1923 and distinguished himself winning prizes and obtaining first class honors. Pike started work at Waite in 1926 and retired from Waite in 1972. There is a out line of his life by D B Steer dated 6/7/75. There is a list of the duties of the Farm Manager and a chart outlining how the farm is staffed and managed.
