The inaugural meeting of the Finances and General Purposes Committee of the Faculty of Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences was held on the 12th of October 1990. According to the convenor Prof Woolhouse, the terms of reference of the committee "include all of those aspects of Faculty business not included in the role of the other Faculty Committees". These matters primarily included finance, strategic planning, staffing and bringing recommendations to Faculty Board. Membership included the Dean, heads of departments, convenors of standing committees, the faculty secretary and postgraduate and undergraduate student Faculty Board representatives. The records include official signed minutes and working papers of the committee.
