The full name of the group, used on its documents, was "University Council Group responsible for Detailed Negotiations about the Relocation of the Department of Agriculture Units onto the Waite Campus". Commonwealth government policy was the spur for the relocation of SAGRIC's Northfield Research Laboratories to the Waite Institute. The relocation appears to have been first proposed in 1990, and was the subject of intensive negotiations for two years, agreement being reached by late 1992. The records of the University's representative group include minutes (including some official signed minutes), reports and the secretary's working papers.
