Description	Mr John Stanley Davies, a South Australian farmer and landholder who died in 1968, willed part of his estate to the University of Adelaide. According to the terms of Mr Davies' will his trustees were to carry on his farming activities for a period of twenty years, dividing the annual profits in a set proportion between the University and Prince Alfred College. After this time they were to realise the estate's assets for distribution in the same proportions to the same institutions. The University chose to honour his expressed wish that the proceeds of the bequest be used by the Waite Institute and other departments of the university to promote research into cattle and beef production. The records include committee minutes and financial records as well as a range of administrative files.
