Ethics in Women's Studies Research
Documents the need to establish ethics in undertaking Women's Studies Research. In 1992 the issue of ethics in Women's Studies research arose when someone who called herself Sister Survey and claimed to be undertaking a Masters Degree in Women Studies distributed a survey on the maternal conduct of lesbians. Complaints were made about the nature of the questions in the survey, which was widely distributed within the lesbian community. As a result the Women's Studies Department wrote its own Ethics Procedures, to be made available to all students and to comply with the Universities Committee on Ethics of Human Experimentation.

New Constitution of the Research Centre for Women's Studies
This is the result of the establishment of the Department of Women's Studies in 1992. As the Research Centre for Women's Studies was already established at Adelaide University, the new Constitution was drawn up to reflect the different roles the Women's Studies Department would undertake and how the Research Centre for Women's Studies would compliment that role. Dr Susan Magarey, the head of the Research Centre, would become a member of staff with the Women's Studies Department, but would be considered as being on half-time secondment from normal Departmental duties. In June 1992 Dr Susan Magarey called a meeting to establish a management committee for the Research Centre.
