Submitted by Kay Schaffer for funds to create the exhibition 'The Many Fates of Eliza Fraser'.

The conference was organised by the Women's Studies team at Salisbury CAE (College of Advance Education) and was held at the CAE and the University of Adelaide.
The papers include: correspondence related to presentations at the conference; two bulletins published prior to the conference; a copy of the brochure and registration sheet; a guide to feminist places of interest; a formal policy statement for the conference; the index cards record of those who attended; details of attendees and those who gave papers or submitted abstracts.

Documents the need to establish ethics in undertaking Women's Studies Research. In 1992 the issue of ethics in Women's Studies research arose when someone who called herself Sister Survey and claimed to be undertaking a Masters Degree in Women Studies distributed a survey on the maternal conduct of lesbians.
Complaints were made about the nature of the questions in the survey, which was widely distributed within the lesbian community. As a result the Women's Studies Department wrote its own Ethics Procedures, to be made available to all students and to comply with the Universities Committee on Ethics of Human Experimentation.

Information about how the Women's Studies Department was established at The University of Adelaide and it's relationship to the Research Centre for Women's Studies. Included are details of the effect of amalgamation, staff profiles and a brief outline of future prospects.

This is a memo to the Curriculum Committee from margaret Allen Head of Women's Studies regarding minor changes to the awards for Women's Studies. There are recommendations for both the Masters and the Graduate Diploma in Women's Studies, as well as details of the Honours/MA Qualifying Programs.

Following the amalgamation to the University of Adelaide. 1991 only has an agenda, 1992 has a few, 1993 and 1996 are complete sets and all others missing.

No.17: 'Women Writers and the Literary tradition: Finding the Woman in My Head', edited by Kay Iseman (Schaffer) and Jackie Cook. There are also essays on Salisbury by Margaret Allen.

These papers relate to arrangements for Dr Pilwha Chang to present a paper at the 6th International Interdisciplinary Congress on Women held in Adelaide in 1996. Dr Chang was Associate Professor in the Department of Women's Studies, and Director of the Asian Center for Women's Studies at Ewha Women's University in Korea. The records include correspondence between Dr Chang and members of the Congress Organising Committee, a Congress Registration Brochure, and material about the Australia Korea Foundation which was approached for financial support for Dr Chang's visit. There are also 3 floppy discs containing Intergalactic mailing lists for the Congress.

This item is a collection of papers related to the Proposed Chair of Women's Studies and the withdrawal of the offer and the need to restructure the Department with the Anthropology Department. This was much discussed and media releases where made about the subject.

The photographs and slides date from the 1970s, when the Department was part of the Salisbury Campus of the South Australian College of Advanced Education. The album includes images of include of: Women's Studies camps in 1979 and 1985 (when the camps were part of the assessment for some courses); the opening of the Women's Studies Department at the University in 1992; the opening of the Department of Social Inquiry (which resulted from the merger of the Labour Studies Department and Women's Studies); the farewell of former staff member Barbara Baird. The album also contains a list of academic staff within the Department of Social Inquiry and their fields of interest.

The talk was presented in London. It is NOT the version presented at the Menzies Centre for Australian Studies in London on 1 February 1989.

This is the result of the establishment of the Department of Women's Studies in 1992. As the Research Centre for Women's Studies was already established at Adelaide University, the new Constitution was drawn up to reflect the different roles the Women's Studies Department would undertake and how the Research Centre for Women's Studies would compliment that role. Dr Susan Magarey, the head of the Research Centre, would become a member of staff with the Women's Studies Department, but would be considered as being on half-time secondment from normal Departmental duties. In June 1992 Dr Susan Magarey called a meeting to establish a management committee for the Research Centre.

There are two version of the paper: the original and a second version, rewritten as a result of the experiences gained while at the conference.

The Centre was established in 1983 to facilitate cross-disciplinary research, supervise women's studies higher degrees and attract grants. The Advisory Board is listed with photographs and profiles. There are also lists of publications and the grants gained by the Centre.

The newspaper clipping is about the court case of the death of Lia Watson. Her fellow students' proposed to establish The Lia Watson Memorial prize for third year Women's Studies students.

The Women\x92s Worlds Congress is an international interdisciplinary congress on women (IICW) held every three years which focuses on gender research and interdisciplinary scholarship. These records include a collection of newsclippings about the Congress which was held in Adelaide from 22 to 26 April 1996, and organised by the University of Adelaide, Flinders University and the University of South Australia. There are also 3 Congress publications: Delegate List, Program, and Book of Abstracts.
