Established as a Sub-Committee of Buildings Committee by Council at meeting of 27 November 1959 with responsibility for examing all proposals affecting siting of new buildings, alterations, grounds development and services.

Disbanded after November 1975 and reconstructed as the Grounds, Buildings and Accommodation Committee from 1 January 1976. (See D. 2762/59
