Dear Sir
We have your favor of the 10th and have perused the Acts you refer to - we have also since seeing you gone thro' the other Acts bearing on the question and are of the opinion that tho' there may be some technical difficulties as to the mode in which the Grant of the legal estate should be made out - yet the Governor can dispose of the site pursuant to the University Act.
We have had considerable trouble in arriving at this opinion as from the many Acts passed relative to the disposal of the lands of the Crown the question is necessarily complicated.
The Crown Sol's department as yet has not replied to our letter.
Yours truly
Knox & Thrupp

Feby 10th 1875
Dear Sir
Crown Grant to University of Adelaide
We are in communication with the Crown Solicitor in this matter, but as yet we have not been satisfied that the Governor can make such a grant of the site given, as will pass the legal estate therein to the University - and as a large sum of money would probably be spent in buildings thereon we think it well that before the grant be executed, we should see that a good title would pass.
We hope to be able to advise you further hereon shortly.
Yours truly
Knox & Thrupp
