Records Management Office (RMO)

The RMO provides support and accountability for University business activities through the efficient registration and management of the University's corporate records.

The RMO manages University files that include administrative, legal, research grant, scholarship and staff records. The recordkeeping system TRIM manages their registration, movement, access, security, and disposal.

Electronic document management strategies are being developed to meet the current and future business needs of University administrative areas. These strategies allow an increasing number of documents to be scanned and stored electronically, and viewed using TRIM. University staff can apply to access and request records from TRIM.

TRIM is the University's electronic record management system and should be used to store all University records so that they may be managed in accordance with legislative requirements under the State Records Act (1997).  Records stored on a shared drive are not compliant.

Please see the TRIM page for further information.

If you would like more information on recordkeeping at the University of Adelaide a Staff Induction document is available for all staff to use. The document includes:

The Records Management Office can be contacted via email at or phone the TRIM Helpdesk on extension 35334.
