Adelaide Research & Innovation Pty Ltd is the University’s commercial development company. We offer resources, support and commercial funding pathways to the researchers of the University of Adelaide, and provide a point of access for government and business to engage with academics on research, development and innovation.

Our Services

To University researchers we provide:

• Fee free management of consulting and research contracts (including legal, administration, risk management, tender preparation, cost and pricing strategies, invoicing and sub-contracting)

• One-stop-shop access to world-class research expertise and facilities
• Simplified contract negotiation and administration
• Investment opportunities in early stage technologies and innovations
• Gateway to leverage R&D funding programs
  

2010 Highlights

• Over $31 million revenue across more than 500 commercial agreements.
• $3 million in royalties, driven primarily from the University's wheat and barley varieties.
• ARI awarded $430,000 to promising early-stage technologies through the Commercial Accelerator Scheme, bringing the total investment for that program to just under $2 million over the last 3 years.
• Investment from the Trans Tasman Fund into spin out company, Snap Network Surveillance (700K so far)
• Nearly 700 researchers attending ARI commercial awareness sessions
