PhD Position: Early Origins of Adult Disease

We are looking for an enthusiatic PhD student who is interested in discovering how prenatal factors influence the development of the immune system. You will be working with a strong and motivated research team as part of the Centre for the Early Origins of Health and Disease within the Robinson Institute at the University of Adelaide.

PhD Position: Endometrial receptivity diagnostics: in-vivo optical fibre sensing

Help to develop an optical fibre sensing platform for measuring endometrial receptivity for infertile women and women undergoing in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment. Opportunity available for a biology or biochemistry student to work with a newly appointed ARC Super Science Fellow as part of a transdisciplinary biology - physics team.

A generous top-up scholarship ($10,000 per annum) is available, and in addition there are opportunities to present research outcomes at national and international conferences and collaborative work with researchers from Prince Henry's Institute and The Robinson Institute.

Funding Success

Congratulations to Robinson Institute researchers who were successful in receiving funding from the National Health & Medical Research Council.

Projects included a $1.9 million grant to investigate if magnesium sulphate given to women at risk of preterm birth can reduce the risk of death or cerebral palsy in their children.

Evidense-Based Guidelines for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

The Robinson Institute has been involved in the PCOS Australian Alliance to develop the world’s first evidence-based guideline for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal condition that affects approx 12% of reproductive aged women in Australia, yet up to 70% of women with PCOS remain undiagnosed.
