Humanitarian Awards 2008
ROCA Humanitarian Awards were presented to five recipients as part of the 125th Celebrations held at the Bonython Hall on Saturday 18 October 2008. All graduates of Roseworthy Agricultural College, they were presented with parchments by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Adelaide, Professor James McWha, and the President of ROCA, Locky McLaren. Dillon Scholarship 2008 Winner Announced
A young farmer from Underbool in the Victorian Mallee has been announced as the 2008 recipient of the prestigious "Trevor Dillon Agronomic Roseworthy Study Scholarship". The Dillon Scholarship will provide eighteen year old Matthew Winslow with full residential support to live and interact with peers within the supportive collegiate environment of Adelaide University's Roseworthy Campus. Mr Winslow is undertaking his first year of study in the Bachelor of Agriculture degree at Roseworthy Campus. For more information, please view the media release.

Big turn out for 2008 EP ROCA Dinner
The Eyre Peninsula Branch of ROCA recently held their 2008 Annual Dinner at the new Port Lincoln Hotel. Fifty old collegians and their partners attended, and were treated to a night of good food, an engaging guest speaker, with plenty of opportunities for catching up with friends for a chat and a few drinks. 2007 Dillon Scholarship winner announced
A fourth generation farmer from Lochiel in the State’s Mid-North has been announced as the inaugural recipient of the prestigious “Trevor Dillon Agronomic Roseworthy Study Scholarship”. For more information, please view the press release.

Award to Dairy Advisor
Wilf Bowen has been awarded ROCA's highest award - the ROCA Award of Merit for 2007. Wilf has been a highly competent Dairy Advisor and also materially assisted the industry through his leadership and innovative approach to extension methodology; and through involvement in industry committees. Wilf has also made a great contribution to Rural Training both in South Australia and nationally through senior positions in TAFESA. Wilf served a term as President of ROCA after a long term as Secretary and still continues on the Committee.

A most significant outcome of his recent work in the University Archives as a volunteer has been the coordination of the listing of all Roseworthy graduates, cross indexed according to graduation year and course. This is a permanent and readily-accessible asset on the web.

2006 Award of Merit
The Award of Merit for 2006 goes to Brian Rex Wilson. He is a very successful farmer and has had considerable influence in developing new technology that now enables profitable cropping in high rainfall regions previously considered too wet. His fostering of this technology amongst his peers and to agribusiness, and the establishment of Southern Farming Systems, has been highly successful. For more information, please view the press release.

Roseworthy Campus and Student Fund
The first tangible outcome of the Roseworthy Campus and Student Fund is the Trevor Dillon Agronomic Roseworthy Study Scholarship of $5200 to be awarded to an enrolling student in 2007. The Late Trevor Dillon, a highly regarded agronomist, was a strong supporter of Roseworthy and ROCA and regular in his attendance at these functions. There are already sufficient funds earmarked for the scholarship to continue for the next seven years. 

Honorary Life Membership
Congratulations to Ray Taylor who was awarded Honorary Life Membership at the 2006 reunion dinner for meritorious services to ROCA. Ray has been a long standing Committee member, Vice President, President and Past President, and has given strong support to Roseworthy affairs including through his membership of Roseworthy Agricultural College Council.   

Eyre Peninsula Reunion 
The Eyre Peninsula Branch of ROCA had its Annual Reunion Dinner and AGM with an attendance of more than 40 at Port Lincoln on 11 February 2006. Emma McInerney a recent graduate was the guest speaker giving an illustrated address of her trek to the base camp of Mt Everest. The next Reunion is planned to be held at Streaky Bay in February 2007.
