Collect and record self-determined information / data from self-selected sources, choosing an appropriate methodology based on structured guidelines.
Structured guidelines are required at Level 4 to scaffold students as they move towards fully autonomous inquiry. These may be in the form of marking criteria- such as that for the final First Year Human Biology assessment provided below, or other forms of boundary setting to enable a higher likelihood of research viable in the discipline of concern. Within these relatively flexible parameters, students determine their search strategies for relevant literature, or their research methods to generate data relevant to their research question/hypothesis.
