Welcome to Examinations Office

Examinations Office is responsible for centrally administered examinations, and also grading.

Please refer to the EXAMINATION SCHEDULE 2013 for timelines and the following links for assessment and examinations rules and policies:

Key responsibilities:

Exam Request System (ERS)

All exam requests have to be entered and confirmed by the due date. The system will be deactivated so that the provisional timetable can be produced. Any requests that have not been confirmed, or not entered, may not be accommodated. The provisional timetable will be circulated prior to publishing the final timetable. All provisional exam dates and times are subject to change and are not for publication or distribution. Please compare the details of your requested exams to the provisional timetable and advise the Exams Office (in writing) of any ommissions or anomalies by the scheduled deadline (prior to the release of the Final Exam Timetable).

ERS Data Entry

Please refer to:

  1. Exam Request System Data Entry Guide for data entry standards, and
  2. Exam Request Checklist (.pdf) or (.docx) to ensure exam request is completed correctly.

Regardless of whether your exam request has been rolled over or added as new, please ensure that for each exam request:

  • the examiner confirms the duration and materials allowed for the exam
  • that the double desk box is ticked if the exam, or any part of the exam, is open book
  • that the examiner indicates in the materials panel that the exam consists of open and closed book components (if required)
  • that only those courses with students actually enrolled are confirmed
  • that any additional candidates have been added - Honours students or students sitting exams from the previous semester
  • that all courses and entries are entered and confirmed by ticking the confirmed box, including Bradford, as exams will not be scheduled if this box is not ticked
  • that the box 'Course contains prospective graduates' is ticked, if the majority of students are expected to graduate
  • that all same-time courses are linked
  • that different offerings with the same name are clearly identified, for example:

8892 (STATS 3008) Biostatics III - UG
8892 (STATS 6008) Biostatics III - PG
8892 (STATS 3008BR) Biostatics III - Bradford

(This will assist students to find their seats in the exam venue).

Training

If anyone in your area requires ERS training, including refresher training, please check the course schedule on the ITS website for the next available training sessions.
