Florey Medical Research Foundation Honours Bachelor of Medical Sciences Scholarship
The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide financial support for a medical student commencing full or part-time research through a School in the Faculty of Health Sciences, for the degree of an Honours Bachelor of Medical Sciences at a relevant hospital or research institute. To be eligible a student must not hold any other Honours Scholarship.
A contribution to the value of $1,500 for one year will be provided to the successful applicant/s funded jointly by the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Florey Medical Research Foundation (pending funding availability).
- The award shall be made jointly by the Florey Medical Research Foundation and the Research Committee of the Faculty of Health Sciences
- If in a particular year there are no candidates for the award or if there are no candidates of sufficient merit, the award shall not be made and will be carried forward to enable multiple awards to be provided for in future year/s
- These rules may be varied from time to time by agreement between the Florey Medical
- Research Foundation and the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences with advice from the Faculty of Health Sciences Associate Dean, (Research).
To be considered for the Honours Scholarship applicants must have provided all required information on the Honours Bachelor of Medical Sciences Scholarship Application Form.
Applications will be assessed by the Florey Management Review Committee.
The Honours Bachelor of Medical Sciences Scholarship successful applicant will acknowledge the funding and support provided by the Florey Medical Research Foundation in all forms of publication and media promotions relating to the work conducted as part of the Scholarship.
The successful applicant will be required to write a brief, ½ - 1 page report, accompanied by a current photograph of the successful applicant, outlining the research project. This report is to be forwarded to the Florey Medical Research Foundation within one month of commencement of research project. This report may be used for media, fundraising and public relations purposes and must be in language that the general public can understand. The report should also contain any potential benefits of the research activities to the community. (A photo release form will be forwarded to you for your signature).
Please complete the Florey Medical Research Foundation Honours Bachelor of Medical Sciences Scholarship Application Form, including the name and signature of your Supervisor. Please attach a Referee report from the Head of your University Academic School and your Curriculum Vitae.
If applicable please also attach copies of correspondence if the research is being conducted outside the University and Ethics Approval documentation.
