SA Water Michael Leak Memorial Grant 2012

This grant has been established by SA Water in memory of one of its employees, Michael Leak, who was an exceptional contributor to the organisation's engineering department.

SA Water is providing one grant to a continuing student undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Structural) or a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Environmental) program at the University of Adelaide. The value of the grant is $2,500 for one year and will be offered to a student who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia. Indigenous students and students looking to pursue the SA Water Graduate Program on completion of their degree are particularly encouraged to apply.

The student may undertake a double degree in either field provided they remain enrolled in the program for which the grant is awarded. The grant will be provided for one year.

Applicants should be their second, third or fourth year of study and undertaking study on a full time basis as a Commonwealth Supported student. Selection for this grant will be made according to academic merit. The grant contributes towards a student's living/educational costs.

Students applying should be willing to attend Graduate Program functions at SA Water. They may also be required to attend a presentation of the award and be a positive ambassador for SA Water.

The grant must be taken up in the year in which it is offered; acceptance of the grant offer cannot be deferred. If a student declines the grant offer, the grant will be offered to the next eligible student. Students can hold only one SA Water grant or scholarship at any time.

Applications closed Friday 2 March 2012.
