The AR Riddle Grants

This scholarship has been established by Resthaven Incorporated, a public benevolent aged care community service of the Uniting Church in Australia offering a range of high quality, responsive community and residential care services for older South Australians.

One scholarship is available to a student undertaking the Master of Nurse Practitioner program who is undertaking study on a full or part time basis at the University of Adelaide. The scholarship is valued at $5000 per year. The scholarship is available for one year to students who are studying full time and up to two years to students who are studying part time.

This scholarship is available to students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to academic merit and with reference to the applicant’s written statement regarding their interest in aged care in their studies and as a career, their career objectives and how the scholarship will assist them in achieving their goals.

Academic merit will be determined according to students’ cumulative Grade Point Average [GPA] for the preceding year or according to academic records from tertiary or post-secondary level study.

Applicants must currently be a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of South Australia.

Students in receipt of other major University of Adelaide scholarships may not apply for this scholarship.

AFUW (SA) Scholarships and Bursaries 30 March 2012

The Mason Family Scholarship in the Communication of Science is open to students enrolling in:

1) a Graduate Diploma of Education, provided the student has already obtained a degree in Science or Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences; or
2) The Master of Education (Science and Technology), provided the student is a qualified teacher of science in schools who is seeking improved qualifications.

Value: up to $7,500 per annum for one year.

One scholarship is available to a full time female postgraduate student who is undertaking any Masters by coursework program at the University of Adelaide.

The scholarship is valued at the equivalent of the Australian Postgraduate Award which in 2012 is approximately $23,728 (to be confirmed) per year for two years.
 
This scholarship is available to students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to academic merit.
Academic merit will be determined according to students’ cumulative Grade Point Average [GPA] for the preceding years or according to academic records from tertiary or post-secondary level study.

No other scholarships may be held in conjunction with this scholarship.

These scholarships have been established by Covidien, a leading manufacturer of medical devices and supplies, diagnostic imaging agents and pharmaceuticals.  With more than 41,000 employees worldwide and products sold in over 140 countries, Covidien is committed to creating innovative medical solutions for better patient outcomes and delivering value through clinical leadership and excellence.

These scholarships are to benefit three students who are commencing the Master of Minimally Invasive Surgery program at the University of Adelaide.

Applications are open to Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia and international students undertaking the program on a full time basis.  For the purposes of the scholarship, students undertaking 75% of a full course load are considered to be enrolled on a full time basis.

Selection for these scholarships will be made according to academic merit, research potential and suitability to undertake the program.  Academic merit will be determined according to students’ cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) for the preceding years.

The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered; acceptance of the Scholarship offer cannot be deferred.  If a student declines the Scholarship offer, the Scholarship will be offered to the next eligible student.  

Value: The scholarships will provide $12,000 per student for one year to assist with education costs.

The Smolicz Award offers study scholarships for aspiring language teachers.

The scholarships support:
• Non-teachers enrolled in a postgraduate program of study in one of the nominated languages and/or
methodologies.
• SA registered teachers enrolled in a postgraduate program of study in one of the nominated languages and/or methodologies.
• Teachers currently working in a Department of Education and Children's Services (DECS), Association of Independent Schools of SA (AISSA) or Catholic Education SA (CESA) school who want to study a language at SACE level.

Applications are invited in September and in March each year.

You must enrol in an approved course of language study in one of the ten nominated languages as outlined in the Conditions of Scholarship.

Teachers working in DECS, AISSA or CESA schools who apply for the SACE study support scholarships will need the endorsement of the School Council or Board Chair.

The Prime Minister's Australia Asia Endeavour Awards are elite scholarships for the very best university students to spend 6-12 months in Asia as part of their degree, followed by an internship or work placement in Asia. The Awards are open to Australian undergraduates and postgraduates in any field of study.

The Awards are for study in any of 10 Asian countries: China (including Hong Kong and Macau), India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Value: up to $63,500 for a postgraduate.

This scholarship is funded from a bequest and is to enable students to undertake postgraduate coursework or research in the fields of operative dentistry, crown and bridgework, endodontics, related dental materials, implantology and those parts of paedodontics which involved the above treatments. They are applied for in conjunction with an APA, UAS or APCS and the terms and conditions are similar to University of Adelaide Scholarships; however the relevance of the applicant's research topic is considered when deeming eligibility.

Value: $22,500 tax free per annum (2010 rate).

The late Julia Nora Konig made a bequest of the residue of her estate to the University of Adelaide to be disbursed for the benefit of Australian Aborigines.

Eligibility: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking postgraduate studies on a full time basis by coursework or research towards the degrees of Master or Doctor of Philosophy shall be eligible to apply.

Value: The value of each award will be determined by the Graduate Scholarships Committee, taking into consideration available funding, financial need, and number of eligible applications. Applicants may receive an award in more than one calendar year, normally to a maximum of two years if he/she is enrolled in a Masters degree and up to four years if enrolled for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
