Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology (DFEEST) Scholarships

This Scholarship has been established by the Minister for Employment, Training and Further Education through the Higher Education Directorate of DFEEST.

This Scholarship is open to students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia and undertaking an undergraduate program of study at the University of Adelaide in any of the following degree programs:

Bachelor of Engineering (Mining); Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum); Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Structural); Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Environmental); Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical); Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronic); Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic); Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology, Geophysics or Environmental Geosciences; Bachelor of Science (Petroleum Geoscience).

The Scholarship will provide the sum of $2,000 for one year of the approved program for which the student is offered the Scholarship, subject to the student maintaining satisfactory academic progress.

Applicants should be in the third, fourth or fifth year of their program and undertaking study on a full time basis as a Commonwealth Supported student.  Students must be enrolled on the census dates (31 March and 31 August each year) to be eligible to receive this scholarship.  Students undertaking double degrees are eligible to apply.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need and be able to provide supporting documentary evidence at the time of application, eg details of income tested Commonwealth income support payment, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY benefits, or other details of their financial circumstances.

Successful recipients will be selected according to academic merit and financial need.

In 2009, 10 scholarships are available.
