Adelaide Undergraduate Scholarships 2009

The University will offer four scholarships to South Australian students who have demonstrated outstanding academic merit by obtaining a TER of 99.95 (excluding all bonuses) in 2008 who have also made a significant contribution to their school and wider community, where they:

  • are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia
  • qualified for their year 12 certificate (South Australian Certificate of Education or International Baccalaureate) at a South Australian School in 2007 or 2008
  • have applied through SATAC for admission to a Commonwealth Supported Place in an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree program at the University of Adelaide in 2008 and are eligible to receive an offer of a place in that program
  • are commencing post secondary studies for the first time in 2009.

These scholarships provide an allowance of $5,000 to assist with education/living costs and cover the student’s tuition fee contribution for the duration of the program up to a maximum period of four years, subject to students taking up the offer of a place at the University, confirmation of full time enrolment and maintaining satisfactory academic progress in their studies.

The University will contact all eligible students in early 2008 and invite them to present supporting documentation. Short listed candidates may be required to attend an interview.

The names of the Adelaide Undergraduate Scholarship recipients will be published and students will be expected to participate in University of Adelaide public events and publicity material.

Applicants are encouraged to provide supporting documentation demonstrating academic achievement, extra curricular activities, involvement in community and leadership activities with their application (e.g. copies of certificates or awards, media articles, letters of thanks etc).

Students will be eligible to hold a South Australian Principals Scholarship or a Drought Affected Area School Scholarship at the University of Adelaide with the Adelaide Undergraduate Scholarship, however no other major scholarship may be held in conjunction with this Scholarship.
