Don Dunstan Foundation Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Bursary
This Scholarship has been established in acknowledgement of the extensive work by the former South Australian Premier Don Dunstan with the Indigenous people of South Australia which is embedded in one of the fundamental values of the Foundation—'Respect for indigenous people and protection of their rights'.
1. The Scholarship will be open to full time Indigenous students commencing a program at the University of Adelaide. Preference will be given to a student relocating from a rural or remote region of South Australia. The student must be undertaking a Diploma, Associate Diploma or undergraduate award program.
2. Funding will be provided for the term of their undergraduate degree for up to four years only, subject to satisfactory progress as determined by the Coursework Scholarships Committee. Progress will be assessed on an annual basis.
3. The Scholarship will be administered by the Don Dunstan Foundation and the Coursework Scholarships Committee. The Scholarship will be offered as income permits.
4. The successful applicant will be selected on merit.
5. The value of the scholarship will be $2,000 per annum.
6. The Don Dunstan Foundation will publicise the winner of the scholarship.
7. The Rules of the Don Dunstan Foundation Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Bursary may be varied from time to time by the Don Dunstan Foundation, but the name and the general purpose of the scholarship shall not be changed.
